Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

For the 4th of July we decided to go on a hike. Since there's not very many high hills around here we took a trip a little over an hour south west from Oklahoma City to a big game wild life refuge. They have bison, elk, and long horn texas cattle. They have some other things such as birds and prairie dogs.

We went to a very nice visitor center, went on a short hike to a lake and stuck our feet in, then had a fun pick-nick and drove to the top of one of the mountains for a nice lookout vista.

There weren't very many flowers, this was the best one I found, sorry... ok there were some pretty flowers off to the side of the road but I didn't feel like stopping.

Yea! Finally got a shot of a cardinal up close!
