Rocky Mountain National Park Round 2 - Revenge of the Francoms

The Francoms came up for a couple of days and we decided to go up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Elizabella and Jenna

Yours truly (I look chubby) I think either William or McKay took this picture. They did a pretty good job I think.

The kids really had fun climbing around on the rocks and trying to cross the stream (Ron likes to fall in the water, ha ha)

I love Jenna's expression here.

McKay, Elizabella, and Lydia crossing the river with Ron and Mia in the background.

Wendy really wanted me to post this picture of her. She made me promise.

The road going up the mountains was closed so we weren't able to go all the way up, and there was a fire over by bear lake so we couldn't go over that way so we were kinda limited in where we could go.

The closed road.

The animals were crazy up here, they would come right up to you (they were looking for handouts)

Rocky Mountain National Park

A little after we moved here to Colorado we decided to go to Rocky Mountain National Park. I don't remember what the name of the road is, but we drove up to 12,000+ ft up to the tundra. It as pretty neat except we didn't really expect it to be as cold as it was so we didn't spend too much time outside.

It was really pretty up there

It was a nice time to be up there as the leaves were changing colors.

We stopped at the Alluvial Fan and the kids had a lot of fun playing near the water (throwing rocks and eating sand, that sort of thing.)

The extended stay

We stayed at an extended stay for a week while we looked for a place to rent. We were really glad to have leave there as it was quite the challenge to keep the children quiet.

This is Jenna... in a box. She really likes climbing on/in stuff

Route 66 park

Route 66 went through Oklahoma City so we were able to drive on the road and go to a cool park.

This is where we stayed in OKC. The back part of the apartment was a laundry room.

And after she throws it :) Ahhaa ha ha I loved her expression!

Colorado

Well, we are now living in Colorado (hopefully to stay this time :)

We went on a walk to a park near our place. Here's some pictures we took.

Museum of Natural History

One rainy Saturday we decided to go to a natural history museum at the university of Oklahoma. I was holding Jenna and was walking quickly across the parking lot to catch up with Sheila and the rest of the kids when I slipped and Jenna and I both fell down. So instead of driving back all the way back home and changing we thought it would be quicker to buy Jenna some new clothes.

Here's Jenna chilling in the Captain's chair while waiting for her new wardrobe.

Once we got back to the museum they had a lot of neat exhibits including dinosaurs!

The kids are uncovering some bones

And Jenna looks at the bones

There were a lot of neat things to see and places for Jenna to explore
